EROR (The Pianist)
Comments on the instability of the city (60')
"fantasmagoria" for a pianist-improviser-performer, electronics, lights & animated shadows
Piano: Alvise Sinivia
• A city whose people are colorful spectral silhouettes, a pianist-survivor repeating obstinately the word “eror”,
a piano-world for all sound — the mistaken “sound-geography” of a city empty of inhabitants.

During the financial crisis that hit Greece, a graffiti tag appeared in the streets of Athens, flourishing on the walls and facades of large buildings. Eror (λάθως) written with a spelling mistake. A pianist will repeat the haunting interjection to a deserted world: "Eror". The composer Georgia Spiropoulos combines the Athenian experience with other great urban traumas such as the Paris Bataclan terrorist attacks. This phantasmagoria for a surviving pianist takes the form of an animation shadow theatre reflecting life and our unstable present: civilizational and geographic instability, the instability of our digital and the financial bubble, error and algorithmic instability affecting the musical or visual material, a chaotic world emerging from a piano-matrix.
